Challenge

American Integrity Insurance is the fifth largest insurance carrier in Florida with a customer base of 28,000 policies. The company needed to act quickly ahead of the upcoming hurricane season to devise a more responsive way to serve policyholders.

Considerations

They identified the opportunity to develop a product to allow policyholders to submit claims. They considered developing it in Java, but with the time constraint it was not doable. A viable product was needed to:

  • Deliver a reliable system (effective during catastrophes)
  • Have a lean process for fast development due to time constraints (90 days available to achieve 100% of the project)
  • Provide full customer access to claim information on any device (from submission to completion)
  • Have full integration with the company’s core system
  • Include a great interface to promote a positive customer experience and quick adaptation (responsive)

The Goal

The main objective was to develop a First Notice of Loss (FNOL) Claims Portal to allow policyholders to submit claims, and verify status 24/7.

The Solution

The development of the portal was achieved with the OutSystems low-code platform allowing the team to build a unique product in less time.

Results

The FNOL Claims Portal enables greater automation of the claims process. Each claim is automatically routed according to the severity of the case. The portal allows customers to submit, review and follow the status of the insurance claim 24/7. The company is able to provide feedback and proactively manage customers’ expectations.
